Creating and Editing Flows (new)
Our collaboration functionality is changing. Your implementation may not be updated yet.
If your system looks like the image below, with "YOUR DRAFT" instead of "DRAFT", click here to see the appropriate help article.
This function can be performed by users with Contributor role or higher.
Creating or making changes to flows is a two-step process. First you must create or open a change request (this creates a copy of all flows in the live version). Then you can create new flows or edit existing flows.
- Click DRAFT.
- Open or start a change request. You can:
- Select an open change request that is assigned to you to continue editing.
- Select a change request that is assigned to someone else and change the assignee to yourself (if you have Approver role or higher).
Click New change request to start a new one.
Tip Review the list of open change requests to see if someone else may already be working on the same changes you had in mind. You can add a comment to their change request to confirm what they are doing or offer suggestions, to avoid potential conflicts.
Click the Flows tab to open the default flow of the entry point.
- To create a new flow, navigate to wherever the new flow will start (you may need to create multiple flows to do this). To edit an existing flow, navigate to the flow you want to edit.
- Click the Edit flow button (top right of screen).
- Create your new flows or make your changes to existing flows. You can also delete flows (you will likely need to fix any resulting broken links).
Click Save, then click Close to save your changes.
Tip On the Flows tab you can test the navigation of all flows and links to see how it will work when live! When reviewing your changes on the Changes tab, you can easily switch between navigating, editing, and comparing your changes:
- View flow to switch to navigating the changed flow
- Edit flow to switch to editing the changed flow
- Discard change - revert the change to live.
- When you’re done editing, submit your changes for approval.
Tip You can also start the editing process directly from the live version as follows:
When viewing a flow, click Edit flow at the top right. You can choose to continue editing within an open change request or start a new change request. If you enter a Change Request Title and click Start change request + edit flow, the flow opens in the editing canvas.
