Deleting Flows (new)
Our collaboration functionality is changing. Your implementation may not be updated yet. If your system looks like the image below, with "YOUR DRAFT" instead of "DRAFT", click here to see the appropriate help article.
This function can be performed by users with Contributor role or higher.
Deleting flows is a two-step process. First you must create or open a change request (this creates a copy of all flows in the live version). Then you can edit existing flows.
- Click DRAFT.
- Open or start a change request. You can:
- Select an open change request that is assigned to you to continue editing.
- Select a change request that is assigned to someone else and change the assignee to yourself (if you have Approver role or higher).
Click New change request to start a new one.
Tip Review the list of open change requests to see if someone else may already be working on the same changes you had in mind. You can add a comment to their change request to confirm what they are doing or offer suggestions, to avoid potential conflicts.
Click the Flows tab to open the default flow of the entry point.
- Navigate to the flow you want to delete.
- Click Edit flow at the top right.
In the editing canvas, select the More pulldown and choose Delete. The following dialog box alerts you to links that will be broken if the flow is deleted:
- To proactively remove links that will be broken, click edit. The affected flow will open in a new tab. See below for the steps to fix broken links. When you are finished, return to the first tab and select the checkbox next to All affected flows have been updated. This flow can be deleted.
- Once you have removed any affected links, or if you chose not to at this time, click Delete.
Fixing Broken Links
When a flow has been deleted, a red Broken Link will appear wherever the deleted flow was referenced, unless you proactively removed the links during the deletion process above. You should navigate through all flows that may reference the deleted flow, and fix these broken links.
