Workflow Mode

Only Org Admins can create new entry points. This function is only available on Orgs with the Agentic API feature enabled.

What is Workflow Mode?

Workflow Mode is an entry point setting that will validate all flows within the entry point are Agentic API-ready. Workflow Validation ensures flows meet the rules for use in the Agentic API. It enforces a defined set of rules to identify Agentic API-ready entry points and their flows, surfaces validation errors early, and guides you to create and maintain compliant, Agentic API compatible flows.

Creating an entry point in Workflow Mode

When you are ready to create your Workflow Mode entry point, begin by creating a new entry point and selecting Workflow Mode on the creation screen. When you have the Agentic API feature enabled, you will see two options on the entry point creation screen.

Freeform mode allows full flexibility in creating your flows. Workflow mode adds validation to all flows created within this entry point to ensure they are Agentic API-ready and adhere to Procedureflow's the rules for use within our Agentic API.

Once a mode is selected and the entry point has been created, the mode cannot be changed.

Entry points and flows in Workflow Mode are marked with a label to make it easy to identify which ones have the extra validation to make them compatible with our Agentic API. These labels are visible on the main entry points screen, the flow edit screen, the Administration screen for entry points and the AI Process Designer generation screen.

Creating and updating flows in Workflow Mode

Creating a flow manually

  1. Open a Workflow Mode entry point.
  2. Click Edit Flow and create a new change request. Build your flow as usual.
  3. As you work, Procedureflow will validate your flow against all Agentic API the rules.
    • If your flow passes validation, it can be saved normally.
    • If your flow fails validation, an error message will appear listing each rule that has been violated. You will not be able to save until all errors are resolved.
  4. Address each error and click Save again.

Creating a flow using AI Process Designer

  1. Open a Workflow Mode entry point.
  2. Click Edit Flow and create a new change request. Generate a flow using AI Process Designer.
  3. The flow will be generated to comply with all Agentic API the rules.

Updating flows

Over time you may need to adjust your flow to accommodate procedural changes within your organization. Any changes made to your flows within a Workflow Mode entry point will be validated against all Agentic API rules as you work. If an edit fails validation, an error message will appear listing each rule that has been violated. You will not be able to save until all errors are resolved. Address each error and click Save again.
